Perry County Chamber Top Goals for 2003

1 Workforce Development
Complete the process for consultant selection to develop an overall community development plan to stem brain drain, population loss and look at the general community livability for large employers to attract upper level management to live in the county and to boost our retail and service sectors; Serve as fiscal coordinator for the Perry County Adult Literacy Grant; and Assist in coordination of the start-up of the Perry County Life-Long Learning Partnership.

2 Economic Development
Create a Retailer’s and Small Business Seminar Series to form coordinated retail events that serve a regional market and assist with creation of work groups to begin working on Main Street revitalization in Cannelton and Tell City. Develop the Chamber web site with Job Bank and Real Estate database components to assist local employers and recruit new businesses.

3 Centennial Celebration
Educate the community about the contributions made by the Chamber and local businesses the past 100 years with activities, exhibits and presentations throughout the year. Forge local community dialogues by holding quarterly community leader exchanges for local coordination and mutual understanding

4 Finance Committee
Set a goal and undertake a capital campaign and large membership drive to stabilize the Chamber’s revenue stream.
