Perry County Memorial Hospital
employs 260 professionals to care for local residents’ health.
Seven local physicians serve the hospital. The doctors provide
general family medical care, and pediatric, obstetric &
gynecologic services, back and neck treatments, sports
medicine and dermatology as well as a broad range of many
other services. Oncology and hematology services are provided
at the hospital’s Cancer Treatment Center. Visiting
specialists provide neurology, pulmonology, orthopedics,
otolaryngology, cardiology and psychiatric services. Physical
and occupational therapy are also provided at the hospital.
Five therapists serve in- and out-patients from birth on up
with a range of therapies from wound care and urinary
incontinence to industrial rehabilitation and speech and
neurological rehabilitation. Behavioral services are also
provided to meet each patient’s emotional needs. The
hospital’s active medical staff, provisional active staff,
honorary staff, consulting staff and emergency room staff give
Perry County access to 102 physicians and health care
professionals.
Four other local physicians
provide general medical care and podiatric services. A local
office of the Ohio Valley Surgical Specialists houses four
physicians providing general and vascular surgery services to
local residents. The Owensboro-Mercy Health System with over
2,000 employees in nearby Owensboro, Kentucky also serves the
Perry County area with their hospital and medical facilities
as well as Deaconess Hospital and Health Plans of Evansville. |
